On December 2, 2012, we were still in the hospital and on this day, Chris, George and I were visited by the Ross', Danielle, Lauren, Alivia and Uncle Sean and Aunt Bobbee. Later this evening, everyone (but me and George; Danielle went to work) went out to dinner and brought me a burger back from Texas Roadhouse. This evening was REALLY hard. I'd been told the second night was most difficult, but there seemed to be nothing that would calm my unhappy little babe. The nursing staff was terrible in terms of helpful advice but thankfully they mostly left us alone and didn't come in for unnecessary interventions. Late this night George passed his second hearing test and was given the "all clear". :-)
December 3, 2011 - This morning, two of my co-workers, Pam and Christine came to visit at hospital. We also got to go home at 2:00pm today! I could not believe how much stuff we'd brought and it actually took two trips to get everything home. This day was quite cold (about 49deg) but gorgeous outside. When we got home, the girls had made a "Welcome Home" poster for us.
Today was Chris' father's birthday and Tom and Sharrie returned to take everyone (except for me and George) out for dinner. My friend Kym came out to visit this evening and watch the baby for me while I slept. I am so thankful!
December 4, 2011 - First Redskins game. Loss to the Jets, 34-19 Today was a rough day, and all George seemed to want to do was nurse. I've had little sleep and it is quickly catching up.
December 5, 2011- First office visit with Dr. Athey, no weight gain, 7.8lb - Jaundice levels were ordered. This afternoon Danielle took the girls to play at Brooke's house which was a nice relief as we were a little better able to rest while the girls were gone. Nicole Keefauver came to visit in the evening.
Dec. 6 - Home health nurse gave clean bill to both of us, said we looked good but restricted driving. Daddy took Lauren and Alivia out to the store to get out of house for a bit. I really struggled tonight, Daddy and Aunt Danielle were wonderful and let me sleep after talking with the Lactation Consultant, Kris.
Dec. 7 - Another office visit with Athey, no weight gain, will retake jaundice levels, Lactation Consultant visit with Shannon, Supplemental Nursing System was suggested, in addition to herbs. Shannon states that she thinks issues with milk supply might be connected to my PCOS. After this appointment, I walked to Robinwood for bloodwork for George. Later this evening, we all went out to Toys R Us and bought a co-sleeper with the hope that we might be able to get some better sleep. On the way it even snowed a little! George slept large majority of the day in his car seat; probably so worn out from all that traveling!
Dec. 8 - Christmas shopping at WalMart and the Outlets. George's 1st "outing". He did great!
Dec. 9 - Girls went to Brooke's with Danielle again. Chris and I took George to his doctor's appt, he weighed in at 7lb 9oz which while it was an increase, the doctor would have liked to have seen more. Bloodwork showed that Billiruben levels dropped! This afternoon I attended a breastfeeding support group at Robinwood. And even later this evening, we all made a quick run out to Kyms for medicine to help increase my milk supply.
Dec 10 - Tom and Sharrie visit this afternoon. They brought us lunch and played with the girls while enjoying some time with their new grandson.
Dec. 11 - Jes and Stephen come for pictures this afternoon. After their quick visit, we all napped in Mommy's bed. We attempted the grocery store later this evening and it actually went well!
