I took a test last week that was quite faint so I entered a period of denial and today figured it was time to try again. When I saw the INSTANT results, I took Chris out for some ice cream to share the big news.
I must admit this all comes as a huge shock. After years of trying and feeling like failures, we were fairly certain this day might not come again. We were not trying and really the timing is quite terrible, but who can deny the gift that has been given to us? We are feeling lucky and hesitant, of course due to our past with these sorts of experiences. I will call the doctor after the holiday weekend to request the bloodwork. We will want to see an HcG level above 5 for a positive test. After that the HcG number will double every 1-2 days depending on the person and where they are in the pregnancy.
