Well, it is my understanding that Alivia has learned how to get out of her crib...we knew this day would come eventually...

We have a small, wide bookshelf that sits next to her crib and at some point last night she was able to reach things on the bookshelf that she shouldn't have been able to reach while standing in her crib.

This afternoon, when I came in to get her from her nap, Alivia was sitting on top of the bookshelf! I asked her to get back in to her crib which she promptly did! I then sat in the rocking chair and asked her to come sit in my lap. She hesitated as if she were trying to figure out if I knew that she knew how to do this task. She then proceeded to swing her leg up on the side of the crib and pull herself up onto the bookshelf. While now sitting on the shelf again, I asked her to come sit on my lap. She put up a little bit of a fuss, wanting me to help her, but I continued to sit where I was and much to my disbelief, she jumped right off of the bookshelf and came to sit on my lap! I think we'll need to start looking into converting that crib sooner rather than later!
