Today DSS and Salem Children's Trust told Elizabeth that she will be moving in to our home during the week of Dec. 20th. They also told her that living with her biological mother is no longer an option. It was a day of sadness and excitement; grief and hope. We are looking forward to her being with us "permanently" and are hoping that we will receive the support from Pressley Ridge that we will need.
I spoke with Priscilla last night who had many excuses for not returning my calls but all the same, I've invited her back to the house on Thursday night. She knows that we have another interview this evening with an older "grandma" who sounds promising. We will keep our options open.
I am looking forward to Thursday night as a friend has offered to sit with the girls while Chris and I get out of the house to do some Christmas shopping! I can't remember the last time we went out alone and I need to get better about scheduling time for us. It seems like our relationship always takes a back seat but I need to work hard at allowing us time to get out...
